Of the Leaders. By the Leaders. For the Leaders The Tata Interactive Learning Forum 2006 |
The Tata Interactive Learning Forum, now in its fourth year, is where thought leaders and decision makers in the training and education industry from across the globe come together to gain new perspectives on learning, share success strategies, and network informally with other industry leaders. |
We feel that with your expertise in Higher Education, you can make a significant contribution to the Tata Interactive Learning Forum (TLF) 2006. We invite you to attend the TLF 2006 and would be happy if you could share your insights and knowledge in the forum. |
We at Tata Interactive Systems passionately believe that learning is an ongoing process and it is this passion that finds expression in the TLF. Our spirit flows from this belief and is embodied in the slogan, "Interact. Innovate. Inspire." |
The TLF is an annual event with two distinct focus areas: Higher Education and Corporate Training.
|
|
Where would you like to be? The TLF 2006 is being held both in NYC and Chicago. Register now and pick the venue most convenient to you.

| As technological and economic changes redefine the dynamics of learning, time and again, there are more questions out there than there are answers. In the TLF 2006 we will address some of these critical issues:
|
|
|
|
· What will the changing demographics and outsourcing trends mean to Higher Education in five to ten years? |
· How will the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds interact, going forward? |
· What new areas of learning will emerge? What can we tell from what we know today? |
· How will the open source technology movement, especially in learning management systems, impact Higher Education? |
· How is the publishing business likely to shape up in the future? |
The list is only indicative rather than comprehensive. We will seek answers to these questions, not by having a "sage on the stage" but with highly interactive sessions. |
These conversations will be led by knowledgeable moderators such as:
|
· John Ebersol, the President of Excelsior College, previously Associate Provost and Dean of Extended Education at Boston University; |
· Craig Swenson, provost of Western Governors University, previously the provost of the University of Phoenix; and others. |
The following day we will also have a half-day, post-conference workshop, to introduce a suite of new, multiplayer simulation products in the US market. For more on the workshop refer the foot of the email.
We look forward to your participation and valuable inputs. Please confirm your participation at the earliest.
Warm regards, |

About the Post-conference workshop-The TOPSIM multiplayer simulation
As you know, Tata Interactive Systems has made some recent acquisitions in Europe. Through these acquisitions we are now bringing to the US the TOPSIM product suite-a suite of multiplayer simulation products. TOPSIM models real industries and simulates complex corporate decision-making scenarios to help people make better decisions. TOPSIM has been widely in use in the German speaking world for over a decade .
TOPSIM has also proved to be an effective management education tool. About 300 of the 400 universities in Germany employ TOPSIM to teach their business students. Furthermore, there are also non-business related titles in the portfolio.
The workshop will formally launch the TOPSIM line of products in the US market and provide our clients with a firsthand experience of TOPSIM.
After an initial introduction to the product concept and its working, participants of the workshop are invited to play the simulation. Participants will be grouped into teams competing against each other to get a deeper sense of the real product. The session will be wrapped up with a demonstration of the various deployment modes of TOPSIM (online, classroom based, etc.), the set-up process, and a Q&A session.
We will be using a general business title for the workshop that requires no specialized subject knowledge. While the post-conference workshop is optional, and not an inherent part of TLF, we look forward to your participation.
