
The 3D animation film titled ‘Special Deeds for Special Needs’ has won the top spot in the Best Animated Film on Social Welfare category at the FICCI Best Animated Frame Awards 2009. The awards were announced at a ceremony on February 18, 2009 at Mumbai.
The animation film was conceptualized and created in-house by TIS to be showcased at their corporate sustainability event—The Tata Interactive Learning Disability Forum (TLDF) in 2008. The recently set up animation division of TIS created the 3D animation for this award winning film.
The FICCI Best Animated Frames Awards (www.ficci-frames.com) have been instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce to recognize talent in the animation industry around the world. The 2009 awards had received over 580 entries from 21 countries and the awards were given away for 17 categories including animation, gaming, and visual effects.

The awards identify best practices and innovations of Indian corporates in fulfilling their responsibilities to diverse stakeholders. In this process, Reader’s Digest also aims to sensitise corporates to their role as good citizens of a fast-developing nation.
It was awarded taking into consideration TIS’s partnerships, approach, deployment, voluntary activities and results, boosting TIS’s confidence and enthusiasm for the cause.
